[wix-users] Help: I got error The imported project "C:\Microsoft.Cpp.Default.props" was not found with VS2019

To all,

I had problems getting WiX to build under VS 2022 at first but it was because the WiX Toolset Visual Studio Extension was still being developed. Not sure if it will resolve the issue with not finding "C:\Microsoft.Cpp.Default.props" but I am able to build with WiX with VS 2022 now after updating to the following versions:

WiX Toolset 3.11.2.4516
.NET Framework 3.5.1
Visual Studio Professional 2022 (64-bit) 17.2.3
WiX Toolset Visual Studio Extension 1.0.0.18
Windows 10 Enterprise x64 20H2 19042.1741
Visual C++ 2022 14.32.31326

I was never successful getting WiX to build under VS 2022 or 2019. I had to go back to VS 2017 in the end.

I got error The imported project "C:\Microsoft.Cpp.Default.props" was not found when i built wixproj under VS2022.



I found that it is because HEAT is loading old version of MSBUILD under folder C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319. It is not using the one under C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Enterprise\MSBuild\Current\Bin.



But I don't know how to make the HEAT to load the correct version of MSBUILD.
