[wix-users] get updated windows path during installation

Hi All,

As part of my installation, my windows path gets updated with the software I am installing. After the install , on the finish page I let the user run a few scripts but it fails as the installer hasn't picked up the updated path variable. It works if I close the installer and run it again obviously since it has the new path in this context. Is there any way One can propagate this updated path to the installer process that is running? I saw online a few posts like broadcasting a WM_SETTINGCHANGE but that doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas? Is this even possible?
