Yes - and in case signer is a private PKI, has to be also added to either Trusted Root Certification Authority certificate store, or Trusted Publishers certificate store preferably.

Sign everything.
(1) Before building an MSI, sign everything that will go into it.
(2) Likewise when building a VSIX.
(3) Sign MSIs and VSIX files as you complete them.
(4) Once you have built the bootstrapper application, extract its engine and sign that.
(5) Update the bootstrapper application with the signed engine, then sign the bootstrapper itself.

Subject: [wix-users] Query in WiXToolSet
Hi,
I have some queries regarding my installer mage with WiXToolSet.
How do I let my windows know, that the installer is trustworthy? The defender says, that the publisher is unknown, how do I fix this issue?
