Technically speaking, I absolutely agree.  However, speaking from personal experience it's sometimes easier to "sell" a patch to our customers than it is to get them to take a new version, even if the end result is exactly the same.

IMHO, patching is not worth it unless your product is very, very big or has a very specific patching needs.

There's this page: http://wixtoolset.org/documentation/manual/v3/patching/wix_patching.html and I think there's something in the tutorial, various discussions in the (various) archives of this email, and on StackOverflow.

Patching is neat when it works, but it requires that you have done everything very by-the-book to get there with all the releases you want to patch, as well as understand small updates (minor upgrades are "technically" allowed, but in practice seem to be very hard to sustain, iirc) very well.

is there any documentation available for torch and pyro?

When I type "torch-?" or "pyro -?" on the command line, I do get a concise list of command-line options, but I have not found something more comprehensive so far.

So is there a good way to learn more about what torch and pyro can do?
