For what little it is worth, the hardest part about major/minor/patch upgrades is simply deciding which to do (and the basis for making that decision). It often sounds like it really matters which is selected, when in my experience unless you are dealing with an absolutely enormous (relative to your distribution mechanism) major upgrade is always the way to go.

Well, without simply restating the actual text, it's hard to continue this thread.
I read those docs and they indicate the given outcome for the specified declaration.
The Major Upgrade page is very short and succinct, if you have a specific question then ask. But given how short the doc is, I would have trouble not simply restating it?
