Hello all,
I was not aware that Windows 10 embed 2 ways to uninstall applications.
You have the control pannel programs and feature stuff inherited from Windows 7 and you can uninstall application for the PC parameters inherited from the Windows 8 metro uninstaller.
1. When I uninstall my application from the Windows 7 Control Pannel, everything goes well.
2. When I uninstall my application from the new Windows 10 PC Parameters Applications, it fails to stop the running process.
I have observed the main difference between the 2 ways is the UAC prompt. The second way never prompt for UAC.
I have checked if it was share by some installers so I made test and effectively with every freeware I have try to uninstalled when its application is running, the uninstall with way 2 failed. (7zip, Unlocker, ...)
Are you aware of that?
Have you some advice in order to allow uninstall work identically in both ways? Is that a Microsoft Windows 10 bug?
Regards,
Bruno Pettorelli
