I get the message regardless of whether there are other installed instances or not. I have tried making sure the product code was different and changed the id's on the components themselves just to see if that helped. It didn't. I still had the same issue. Yes followed the guidelines on multi-instance installers.

My suspicion is that these files that are missing happen to be shared between multiple instances (i.e. have the same destination path / keyfile locations), and hence the issue.

I have a multi instance installer. I am trying to do a major update to one of the instances by installing it. It removes the existing installation and begins the installation of the new version, but, doesn't restore all of the files. There are several of the subject messages in the log file, each of which corresponds to the missing files. I know I'm doing something wrong. I just can't seem to nail down what it is. Can anyone give me a clue?
