[wix-users] Keeping a cache on upgrade, deleting it on uninstall

Hi,
An application creates a cache (a nested directory).
The cache must be kept on upgrade, and deleted on uninstall.

I currently use a vbscript Custom Action.
Is there a descriptive way?
