[wix-users] MSI-package not recognised as small update by bundle / MBA

We have a WiX MBA that installs several MSI-Packages.

It seems to me that a bundle / MBA cannot handle small updates of an MSI package (i.e. changing package-code but leaving product-code and -version unchanged).

When our mba installs an update, small update packages are NOT detected by the MBA as a related MSI.
As a consequence the package code is not updated on the system.
As an additional consequence a subsequent repair installation fails with error 1638: Another version of this product is already installed.

When taking the MSI-packages for their own and installing an update with REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=vomus, everything works OK. A subsequent repair-installation with REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=cmuse is successful.

I have searched some time to find more informations about this behavior but didn't find them. So I want to ask, if I am missing something.
Any help will be appreciated.
