[wix-users] Failed to resolve source for file: error

Is it a good user experience to prompt user to supply the installation path
while uninstalling...suppose I installed A.exe and upgraded to B.exe. I may
or may not save the setup file.Since B.exe is installed I won't care about
the installation file. After few days if I need to uninstall the
application how is it possible to provide installer path. It may have been
lost. It should have automatically cached in program cache...so how can I
provide source path in this case.

If you know where the file is, set the location to it locally with
SetLocalSource or on the web using SetDownloadSource.
If you don't know the path then prompt the user to supply one and then use
SetLocalSource.
