[wix-users] How do I make a 64 bit MSI?

Chris Painters ISWix is really slick. I'm using it for all further installers. I have nothing posted yet but I've been able to bundle the msm from winlua with other application msm's created with ISWix and create a multi-project installer in a few minutes.

Just follow the templates and go.

I totally believe in hardly working. :) I have templates and designers that make a project like this super fast and easy. I'm not sure why this needs to be so complicated.

It works great -- even back eight years ago when I first wrote about it: http://www.joyofsetup.com/2010/05/14/working-hard-or-hardly-working/

I do something similar and set the Win64 attribute on Component elements to ensure the components are 64-bit. The Component documentation at http://wixtoolset.org/documentation/manual/v3/xsd/wix/component.html says the default for the Win64 attribute is 'yes' for x64 but I think I never got that working properly without manually specifying the Win64 attribute on components.
