It's not too hard to use burn but set the MsiPackage's DisplayInternalUI attribute to 'yes'.  That way you get a basic bootstrapper but you also get the MSI's user interface.  We've been doing that for a while.

The standard bootstrapper UI can also be customized to some extent with themes :

We use this to show the company logo, choose some different fonts, move things around, and so on.
