[wix-users] Pinning a shortcut the the taskbar.

I remember a while back I asked about using the Start Screen in Windows 10. The consensus here and elsewhere was "don't" for that as well, for much the same sorts of reasons - user choice, even on corporate machines.

I thought about that but got lost trying to expand %appdata% in wix. I did not see away of expanding that (or I missed it) but really thought that as it is 2017 and taskbar - startmenu shortcuts have been available from Win 7 on that wix would of had support for it.


I wonder if there is a feature request for it?

You can try copying a shortcut in to the taskbar folder, for windows 10 would be C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar ?

HI all.

Trying to pin a shortcut the the taskbar. Everything I read is around dated around 2010 and it says it is not officially supported. Is this still true?
