To Quote Bob:

Yes, that's the behavior of the Add/Remove Programs applet. It always
uninstalls MSI packages in basic mode after prompting. The only thing
you can do is set ARPNOREMOVE to force a user to use maintenance mode --
and surface a Remove option in your maintenance UI.

Subject: [wix-users] How to force at least a minimal UI at uninstall?

Hi People,

Forgive me if I'm a bit behind the times, but I'm still using a straight .msi instead of a bundle. In any case, I've coded my install so that it seems to work just fine, but some of the testers in my company have an issue with the uninstall. When using ARP "remove" option, it uninstalls silently without producing any UI at all, including the lack of a final "Uninstall Complete" dialog. I expect this behavior, but some don't like it.

Is there a way to force ARP "remove" mode to trigger at least a minimal UI, or at least the final completion dialog?

Sorry if this is a trivial question, but I didn't find anything on it in the list.

                                                                Lewis Henderson
