[wix-users] WIX_DIR_COMMON_DOCUMENTS evaluated to 'D:\'

Hi,

there seem to be a few problems with my WiX installation. Perhaps the root cause is the same?
- I have to disable ICE validation, while it works on colleagues' PCs.
- Even when following this recipe 
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/alexshev/2009/05/27/from-msi-to-wix-part-25-installable-items-updating-xml-files-using-xmlfile/
and taking the very same source files, I cannot alter an XML file during installation.

I hope this helps shine some light on my mysterious problems...

Dear all,

installing to WIX_DIR_COMMON_DOCUMENTS doesn't work for me, so I have posted a bug report with a minimal example to:
https://github.com/wixtoolset/issues/issues/5290

Could someone help me find the problem - most likely a missing PropertyRef?
