Hi Rob, Jacob,

  Your contribution was significant. Preliminary experiment with a CustomAction that calls Entry Point into a DLL works. So, I have the INSTALLDIR, set it to +_demo, and then the string is assigned to the Directory Id of ComponentB.

  I am hardcoding a few experiments. What I want is this:
ComponentA => C:\ApplicationFolder
ComponentB => C:\ApplicationFolder_demo

  The user navigates with the BrowseDlg and specifies a Location ie. C:\ApplicationFolder.

  I will look into your suggestion. The thing with INSTALLDIR is that it ends up with backslash. So concatenating with _demo will make it a subdirectory.
