[wix-users] SWID tag in 64 bit MSI

I am confirming that Wix 3.10.0.2101 does correct the build error reported in issue #4879, related to adding a swid:Tag to a x64 MSI Product.

The project now builds successfully, and when the larger build process completes I will do additional testing.

There is a new build available that should provide a fix for this. Phil, can you try latest build and confirm?

Ug. I do think we have a real problem here. I thought this case was covered by the X64 WiX MSI, but didn't think that it actually places its file in 32-bit locations (just a registry key in 64-bit location). Can you file a bug... definitely an issue for MSIs installing SWID tags.

Subject: [wix-users] SWID tag in 64 bit MSI

I have a MSI setup project which can be built either as a x86 or a x64 package (for the purpose of installing a native driver). When using Wix 3.10.0.2026 and adding a swid:Tag/@InstallDirectory with a directory property derived from a property initialized by Burn to the value of ProgramFiles6432Folder ) and when building the x64 package I get:

error LGHT0204: ICE80: This 32BitComponent tag098E26650654137FDD70F9C99051DDE9 uses 64BitDirectory WixTagFolder [local path to .wixproj]

A build of the same project configured as x86 is successful. Is there a way to place the swidtag folder in the drivers cache location on a 64 bit system?
