[wix-users] light.exe on Windows 10 from Service: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed

Is it failing during validation? That's always been problematic from a service. Trying running with the -sval switch to suppress validation.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with Windows 10 yet.

I just upgraded our build box from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (x64) and light.exe started raising "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed". It still works with the same parameters if I run it interactively, but not when launched from the build service.

I tried:

- Running build service under different accounts (local admin, domain, local system)
- Registering/unregistering msiexec
- Changing Windows Installer service imagePath to SystemWow64 (from
system32)
- Adding Wow64=1 registry flag for Windows Installer

Result is always the same: light.exe works interactively but fails under windows service.

Any ideas/suggestions on what else I may try?
