[wix-devs] wix toolset with license verification

I have a question regarding the wix toolset. I was wondering how one
creates a product key for the windows installer when installing the
application, or how to get the user to upload a license file to the
installer. Will one need to write custom actions to do all the work of
connecting to the license server to validate the product key with
expiration date? Some type of server-side validation? I wasn't able to find
any examples of this. Any suggestions on this is greatly appreciated.
